Where did you get that hat?

Asked by ucme (50047points) October 30th, 2019

Do you have more than one?
Which do you wear most often?
Have you a favourite?
Did you ever pull out a rabbit?

I have many.
I’ve received them from friends and have bought some as well.
My favorites are a sheepskin one I bought at a Renaissance fair, a USMC cover for the dress uniform that a friend gave me and a grey felt fedora of my grandfather’s.
There’s a few straw ones I like too.
Btw, I have a rabbit one as well.

I have an unusually-large head. I’ve been unable to buy normal hats since I was a teenager. I have to order extra-large hats. So I don’t have that many. But now that my hair has decided it’s done being on my head, I have to stock up. Nobody wants to see a hairless version of this monster-size gourd.

Dozens; ball caps, bucket hats, straw hats, leather cowboy hat, deerstalker (like Sherlock Homes), winter stocking caps . . . .

I have several, but In cold months I wear my black fedora that’s fading to brown and in summer I wear a khaki Australian breezer to shield myself from the heat and sun.

@lucillelucillelucille Excellent, can I see a photo? Only kidding, don’t swear :D

ucme's avatar

@hmmmmmm Yeah, a head with no hair needs a hat, particularly in winter.

@lucillelucillelucille Bless ya, least that was easier than carting the dress out the closet & what not :)
That’s an all action pic though isn’t it? :D

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@ucme- I have a lot of hat photos so that was no trouble… and barely moving, quite frankly. XD

ucme's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille Yeah but we have snow, camo pants & a tight arse…sorry, I always spoil things XD

@ucme -Lol!
Here is one more hat. This one was given to me by the same friend that gave me the dress blues hat.I still have the cat too.:)

@lucillelucillelucille That cat is very attractive has the look of a lynx, least to these eyes.

I have several ball caps but crave a top hat with a big blue feather stuck in…not even joking.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@ucme -Ty! Bill is a good boy too!
There was a top hat in an antique store where I live. Idk if it’s still there as they are all the rage right now.

ucme's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille Was it super shiny? Has to be shiny with a large blue peacock feather placed cheekily in the band :D

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@ucme – I think it was beaver-no feather.

Oh, that reminds me…

I only do stocking caps and winter knitted caps. My mom tried to force me to wear them my whole life, saying I ‘looked cute’, so that made me loathe them. I’m slowly trying to integrate them back in.

I’ll post one as my profile pic for a day for ya.

Yeah, I watch F1 been a fan for years, best driver is Lewis Hamilton he’s about to wrap up world title #6 makes him a legend in my books.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@ucme Yeah, those are fun to watch.

You get Netflix there? There are some really fun racing shows like Hyperdrive.
