Is there a contradiction in the words to this song? (details inside)

The words are:

Time to say goodbye
Horizons are never far
And I have to find them alone
Without your light, on my own
With you I will go on ships over seas
That I now know.
Now they don’t exist anymore,
It’s time to say goodbye.

The first part says that he (or she) is going on his (or her) own. But in the second half he says “with you I will go on ships over seas”. Huh?

How do you interpret this?
