Do you want to participate in making the Obscure or Unknown Xmas Song List?

Asked by rebbel (35549points) December 6th, 2019

So, no Bing Crosbys, no Mariahs, nothing of the likes.
No top 100 Xmas songs.

But something you are quite sure not many people have ever had the pleasure of hearing.
Maybe something ethnic, something from a unlikely genre, or artist.

My vote:
Fay Lovsky – Christmas Was A Friend Of Mine

Christmas in the sixties was fine
With candles, goodies, presents, and wine
“Peace on Earth” was real, it seemed
And “Love” a word as yet not obscene, no no

I never hear this version while out and about, although I’m sure some have.

Not sure this one will count as it has no words. It’s my ringtone year round. Christmas Love

This turned into one of my absolute favorites…and I’m not a country fan.

I thought THIS would be fairly well known, but apparently not, must just be the circles I run in.

This one isn’t really a Christmas carol, but I first heard it around Christmas time so it has that connotation for me

But as actual Christmas songs go, I’ve always like this one

and I love the feeling in this one

I had never heard of the Rotary Connection. I found them quite by accident. They were a psychedelic soul band from Chicago from 1966–1974, so they should qualify. Just pick one.

Peace At Least

This used to get a lot of play, but it has been a long time since I’ve heard it.
