Vacuum bag malfunction has left dehydrated figs inedible?

Asked by Ltryptophan (12091points) December 13th, 2019 from iPhone

I vacuum packed figs at the end of July, and in the past two weeks the seal let air into the bag that had been air tight.

Bag is still closed and was kept in +-70 degree dark environment.

Safe or trash?

Safe. Staying hard frozen is the key.

Dried fruit is dried so that it will keep under normal temps. They are safe. (And are too dry to spoil.)
