Do you listen to audiobooks?

Asked by josie (30934points) December 20th, 2019

I like to read. When I drove or rode my bike I listened to music.
But over the last year I have gotten into audiobooks and I almost can’t drive or ride my bike without one playing.

Yes, I’ve gotten into that recently. Makes train rides and chores much more pleasant. Occasionally, I also listen to a book on long walks with the dog – but I try to keep that to a minimum because being in nature with no distractions helps me feel peaceful.

Only a couple. I find them to be frustratingly slow. My mind works faster than they speak.

No.
I like the kind you can hold in your hands.
Remember those? Do ya??? :)

Nah, I like the ones with pictures & words big enough so you can point at them!

I do not. I listen to podcasts, but I have yet to get into audiobooks. It may happen at some point.

Yes.
I have two (or three?) on Audible, and have listened parts of both of them.
But that Audible is such a mess when you’re in Europe, that I have quit using it.

Pale Blue Dot – Sagan
Mythos – Fry

My mind wanders, I can’t pay attention to them. Unless I’m driving long-distance and I rarely do that.

I’m surprised Audible isn’t working well for you. Can you tell me more about that? As a fellow European, I’m curious!
