Guess I’d need a picture to answer that. I just know that I don’t care for tight clothes on men.

Been that way for a while now, it’s a hipster thing like skinny jeans. Not something I will be participating in.

@ARE_you_kidding_me- I don’t know why I am just noticing it now. Most of the men I see this on are of a slighter build and are younger as well. Even then, it looks like they will explode out of their suits. I wonder how well one can move in a fit like that?
Thanks for posting that article.

Maybe they are adding stretch to the fabric? I’d have to see a photo. Is it cotton or wool?

Tight suits on men screams junior executive.

It’s horrible. I hate all of the girly clothes that men are wearing. Hate.

@JLeslie -Check out the photos in @ARE_you_kidding_me‘s link.

I don’t know about suits, but I like my skinny jeans and tight shirts (yes I am a young guy with a thin build). It’s definitely popular now and I’m glad that it is because I like it on myself and find it attractive on other guys. :)

Just my $0.02

I don’t get whats wrong with it. Looks kinda hot on the guys with muscles.

I guess they might have stretch in them now that I’ve seen the photos on the link, although the part of the jacket where the shoulder meets the sleeve looks like maybe it is deep enough, and so then the rest of the jacket is purposely too small? It’s ridiculous, but then for years all women’s shirts were too short. It’s still a problem, but better than 15 years ago. I’m 5’6” I’m not even very tall, and I still have a big problem with shirts not being long enough and also with them being too tight across the bust line, and I have average breasts for my weight and shoulders.

I have noticed the trend in Hollywood red carpet pictures for a while. Maybe a decade. I think, “Is looking twee and elfin really attractive?”

I don’t notice it much in real life. But I’m not hanging out with 20-year old guys in suits.

It’s not my favorite look. Fortunately, it hasn’t made it to my home town yet

I have two such suits & they’re very comfortable, perfectly easy to move around in & look great on me.
Behave with all the “skinny” shaming you amateurs :D

^ As long as I don’t have to see it, enjoy yourself!

Demosthenes's avatar

@ucme How would men ever show off their butts without skinny clothing? It’s very important.

ucme's avatar

@Demosthenes Oh I have many pairs of skinny jeans too, look like they’re painted on my arse region :D

Looks like the skinny-jean version of a suit, to me, and I think I have seen that on some very athletic and/or thin celebrities and/or movie characters in costume. And maybe that’s caused some people to want to look like that or worse, or some suit marketers to want to try to sell that.

Though looking for an example, I’m not finding a celebrity example that’s as bad as @ARE_you_kidding_me ‘s article examples. One I was thinking of was Derek Hough (who is a very fit and thin dancer) but it’s not bad like that – he’s just thin and his suits are sort of tight – but I can imagine them inspiring guys with body obsessions (of which there are many) into wanting to get tight suits when they shop for themselves.

I imagine gay men would find them attractive. I don’t. Kind of like Speedo’s. Pretty sure they appeal to gay men. I have met very, very few women who like them.

Demosthenes's avatar

^I used to ogle the swim team in high school. :P

I do think it’s true that men are more visually stimulated than women and that’s true whether you’re straight or gay. Gay men look at other men the way straight men look at women, which differs from how women look at men. That’s been my experience at least.

@Demosthenes not sure how old you are…but did you have to swim naked in high school swim class?

SEKA's avatar

@Demosthenes I have seen many a cute ass in baggy jeans. I found them more appealing than any ass I’ve seen in skinny jeans. Sometimes it’s better to leave something to the viewer’s imagination than to give the entire picture.

That being said, since it makes you feel better and sexier to wear them then go for it. As a viewer who adores butts, I still prefer to use my imagination than see the truth!

@Demosthenes No, no nudity in gym class. I’d always heard stories about people having to shower naked in gym or whatever, but I never had to. It’s either an old-fashioned thing or regional. But I’m I glad I didn’t have to do it. I was small and insecure at that age. That would’ve been a nightmare.

@SEKA Well part of the issue is I’m thin and have a pretty small ass so this is my only way of getting it seen! But I hear you. Guys in boxers appeal to me more than briefs. I like to imagine what’s under there. :P

Apparently it was a common thing for the boys had to swim naked in swim class prior to the 70s. The first I head of it was from one of our own.
Then, following that, I had an acquaintance on Facebook who said the experience still give him nightmares. He says the worst of it was when they had to do chicken fights. A naked boy on the shoulders of another naked boy…..I think that in those days pedophilia was not even acknowledged. I feel so sorry for those poor kids.
