How can I play a avi file i copied from the pc version of 007 Nightfire?

I tried opening it with media player but it says it needs a new codec to play it.

Did you try playing it with VLC media player ? If not, you should get that from the provided link. VLC is vital for playing any videos.

hmmm. maybe you need to use a ripping software to get it from the game as opposed to simple “copy-paste” ?
