What is the absolute trashiest show you watch?

Asked by Caravanfan (13524points) February 22nd, 2020

Someone showed me Below Deck. It shows the worst people in the world and I seem to have a problem because I keep watching it.

Beavis and Butt-head.

It’s no longer on, but back in the day I watched The League. It was pretty trashy.

I watch a show with a certain friend. It’s badly written, there’s barely even a plot, and the acting is, at times, horrible. It’s German, so you wouldn’t know it. No need for further details. And I only own the first two seasons because they were a gift…it’s rude to get rid of gifts.

Maybe I should reconsider that friendship.

Drawn Together is the worst for me. NSFW. Adult cartoon.

Demosthenes's avatar

^Drawn Together is insane. I guess for me, my favorite trashy shoes would be Family Guy or It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Stupid, funny shows about awful people doing wacky things. But it makes me laugh and that’s all I ask of a show like that.

JLeslie's avatar

Not sure if it’s trashy, but I watch 90 Day Fiance and Big Brother. I’d probably use the term idiotic instead of trashy.

Jons_Blond's avatar

Hoarders.

I do enjoy Below Deck Mediterranean. Some of the guests they get are crazy.

I have to think. A lot. If I don’t like a show I’ll go read a book instead of watching the show.

@JLeslie

90 Day Fiance has some trashy people on there episodes.
Its trashy because they set up couples to marry in 90 days ( they get paid).

( the blond older women ( age 53)with the Nigerian man ( age 30 yrs)
( if they marry I feel sorry for the man, he doesn’t know what he is getting into.)

Woman ( 42 yrs and two children ) with the younger man ( single and half her age) from a Tropical Place.
The woman abused this man and tried to get all the money ( from the show) but eventually failed to deport him…she was a bad example of using people.

I don’t watch trash. At all.

Curb Your Enthusiasm I don’t consider it trashy at all, but that’s all I got..

Star Trek: Picard.
Complete horseshit.

Game of Thrones.
It didn’t last long. After they killed Sean Bean, I was done.

Caravanfan's avatar

Ragi I heard it was bad.

ragingloli's avatar

@Caravanfan
It is worse than discovery at this point.

gorillapaws's avatar

“The Curse of Oak Island”. The only way I can get through the show is by fast-forwarding the crazy speculation of the obnoxious narrator. I don’t think there’s a big secret treasure there, though maybe at some point there could have been some treasure.

What I love about the show is that there is real history on that Island, many different groups of people lived there and left artifacts, and it’s cool seeing the buried structures they unearth after hundreds of years. It’s also neat learning about the history of all of the treasure hunters—who lost fortunes looking for something that was probably never there.

Caravanfan's avatar

@ragingloli I don’t have a subscription to CBS. I saw the first two seasons of Discovery by checking the DVDs out from the library. Nothing I have read has compelled me to change this plan.

Inspired_2write's avatar

@gorillapaws
“The Curse of Oak Island” drew me in for a few seasons but realized a pattern of “almost” finding “the Treasure”..the real treasure is gaining the Royalties for each episode for the never ending story .
I like the history of it though, haven’t watched it for a while now, don’t like been led on repeatedly.

Star Trek Picard series had just started and I found the premise of the story interesting take on the Star Trek series.
As with any new thing it takes awhile to get into it. I like Patrick Stewart’s acting ability.
He is aging but still is doing what he likes best..acting until he drops.
Kudos to him for continuing instead of rollover and dying.

What is the new Star Trek Picard about?
Star Trek: Picard is trying to go somewhere new. Shockingly, it seems a little bit nervous about it. Star Trek: Picard takes place 18 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, the final film starring the crew of The Next Generation, and several years after Jean-Luc Picard has retired to his family vineyard.Jan 23, 2020

@Inspired_2write I’d really enjoy watching a documentary about the search without all of the drama, hyperbole, insane speculation and nonsense they throw in to lure in conspiracy nuts. Maybe the could call it “Oak Island for Rational Viewers.” The archeologists is my favorite character. He doesn’t get sucked into the bullshit.

The Masked Singer

I save all my trashy watching for low budget horror movies.

Inspired_2write's avatar

@gorillapaws
I think that they do that to keep the hour long show?
Otherwise I will just check the News if anything of significance is located?

How many here would consider Judge Judy “trashy”?

Caravanfan's avatar

I would. That counts.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Sigh. Well, I’m going to watch it NOW anyway!

Dutchess_lll's avatar

I like it because I don’t have to pay attention. It’s on now and I’m only half listening.

Naked and Afraid is one big tease.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

I got tricked into watching “Babes in Toyland” not NSFW at all.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

I have never understood why they had to be naked AND afraid. (Actually, I think it was a Fluther question from a couple years ago.)

filmfann's avatar

@lucillelucillelucille To dismiss Game Of Thrones after the death of Sean Bean is like dismissing Battlestar Galactica after the destruction of Caprica. It is at that point the story really begins.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

@filmfann -I never watched BG but I have heard that about GOT.
I lost interest when I couldn’t stare at Sean Bean anymore

jca2's avatar

I’m not into reality shows but there’s one I find interesting called “Hotel Impossible” where they go to a hotel that’s doing badly and talk about what needs to change with the facility and service to maximize profit and guest satisfaction. The host is pretty tough with hotel owners about things looking shabby or needing to be updated, and what they could do to improve efficiency. They will make changes and at the end of the show they’ll show some rooms and other spaces that are renovated and talk about what worked.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

Oh! Oh! Duckman. Click on Duckmans favorite rant in YouTube. NSFW. Defiantly the trashist show that I like.

LuckyGuy's avatar

Some friends in Louisiana insisted I watch “Duck Dynasty”. I watched a couple of episodes but couldn’t stand it.

“Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is awful people doing over the top awful things but it is funny.
Like super rich chocolate truffles I can only enjoy it in short bites spaced months apart.
