It’s all essentially microblogging, just use what your friends use. Personally, I prefer Identi.ca :)

Twitter. More likely to hit critical mass, sooner.

Yeah I guess but I really don’t like how people just follow everyone else. I just ignore that most of the time and choose what I think is best.

Well they’re micro blogging sites. www.twitter.com Twitter has a nice video of explainig what it is. Click the red button saying watch the video. It will seem useless at first but its actually very handy.

Facebook.

@Mangus: That’s a point. The Facebook minifeed is essentially a twitter stream, and it goes a lot further in depth.

The UI on facebook needs serious help.

Yeah I know! They tried to redesign it but its not a very big improvement. They could do Soo much better. Facebook might actually be the best social network so far! The user interface is not so pretty though.

Bri L. TOTALLY agree, while the new interface is better than the old one, they are still both horrible.

I second the person who said use what your friends use. My friends use Twitter, and so do I.

What demographics mainly use Twitter? Am I too old?

I have a friend who’s around mid fifties using it…

I wasn’t suggesting that was old, per se – but it brings the range of my friends using it from 16 – 50something, which is a nice big demographic ;)
