It is about distraction and blame-shifting from his own utter incompetence.

No.

There is an irony in all of this however. The U.S. is the major contributor to the WHO, both as assessed and voluntary.

But one of the complaints about the WHO is that is too easily influenced by political pressure from certain contributors, and in particular China. Their early position on the spread of the virus that causes Covid-19 was in deference to China.

So the President is essentially saying to the WHO, that if You are going to be influenced you should have the decency to be influenced by your major benefactor, and not the Chinese. The US contributions to WHO are 10 times that of the Chinese.

This is what is wrong with anything having to do with the UN.

@josie That’s how I see it, too. Cutting off our nose to spite our face, in my opinion. Australia may follow, too.

@josie
drumpf could have started by not sitting on his arse, failing to confirm a representative to the WHO for 3 years.

trump’s an asshole for doing this. That’s all there is. The justification is petty. The WHO has a purpose bigger than any single nation funding it.

Americans are not this shallow, small-minded and just freakin dumb cruel. Except trump and his deplorables.

They love stomping on anything they think are victimizing them. What a bunch of haters.

His next target is the USPS.

How the W.H.O. responds to Taiwan says most of what needs to be said here. Clearly they are on team China. (Taiwan is a sort of litmus test for this) Early in the COVID-19 mess the US and other countries urged people not to travel to China while the W.H.O. said don’t restrict travel to China. The real question is why is the W.H.O. favoring China when they are supposed to be independent? The U.S. does not really need the W.H.O. but many developing countries do so I have very mixed feelings about this.

Once again, ^^^ look who’s being hateful, and who isn’t.

The news said that China donated 40 million dollars to the W.H.O. this year.
