What's the point of blip fm?

I don’t get it at all. I’ve tried and tried to find a real use for it to no avail.
Is there something i’m missing?
When does it really come into its own?!
So far I just go on there to return props & quickly skim through listeners’ music incase there’s something interesting.

It’s basically a service that lets you make playlists of music that you like much in the way a DJ makes a setlist. You share those with others on the site, and you explore other users sets and rate them accordingly and find new stuff for your ears while you’re at it.

There’s not really much of a point to it without getting involved in the social aspect.
