What is a "disease profile"?

Asked by Nuggetmunch (511points) July 24th, 2020

I’m reading a research and its objective is title includes the words “Profile of ocular trauma”. I’ve tried to google but I couldn’t exactly find what the contents of a disease profile are. The objective states “pattern, presentation and risk factors” but the content of the research goes in depth into assessment of operative and post operative findings as well, which I cannot delve into because it is a specialist arena that I’m not familiar with. This is why I’m confused whether or not it would be appropriate to use the term “disease profile” and need to understand what it truly means.

Any helpful links and any general links about research terms would be appreciated as well. x

A quick way to think about it is to replace the word “profile” with “description” or “information.” Then read on.
