Why do I have to force quit Apple Mail if I loose an internet connection?

Asked by Spargett (5395points) September 4th, 2008

I have IMAP configured. If I loose an interternet conncection, its impossible to quit the app until I have an internet connection and the accounts have connected.

The “Quit” option is grayed out (see photo). I have to force quit each time causing damage to the application. What gives!?

Are you on tiger or leopard? Not sure if it’s pertinent, but I can troubleshoot a bit easier knowing which flavor it is.

10.5, but of course.

ok… I’m gonna open mail and shut off my internet connection and see what happens. Now does it happen if you shut off your internet connection or only if you lose a connection?
