What do you think of Trump's decision to end "racial sensitivity" training among federal employees?

Yes, this is another American question.

When race is brought up in any given instance, I often hear it stated that the purpose is to start a conversation about race. But do these conversations about race actually lead anywhere? Is focusing on race all the time a good thing, making race more visible and ensuring that we see people as members of a race first productive? If race is just a social construct, why is it so damn important in this country? We can’t move past racial divisions if we insist on bringing them up in every instance, even when they may not be relevant.

So what I’m asking is: is the kind of training that Trump is seeking to end productive? Does “critical race theory” help end systemic racism or does it only strengthen racial divisions in this country?

The 2% thug population need prosecuted for the crimes they are committing. The 98% majority of our population, all colors, the law abiding people have no need. 98% of our population law abiding, will never cave to the criminal 2% whatever their color.

There is nothing wrong with having a training session to remind people not to engage in racial discrimination, and to have a discussion on the topic. This is hardly mentioning it all the time. When the time comes that people are no longer discriminated against based on their race, then the training session can be dispensed with.

The point isn’t whether it works or not. More telling is that the fool’s mandate conforms to his persistent talent for finding the meanest most punitive and insensitive answer to every question.

Dog whistle, dog whistle, dog whistle. Anything he does within 60 days of an election can be reversed.

Me thinks people give trump too much credit. He’s just doing what someone told him to do. He has no idea why he’s doing it either.

I have heard from some studies that racial sensitivity training can do more harm than good, especially the “white fragility” nonsense. But I need to look into it and do some research

But I’m pretty sure Trump’s motives for getting rid of it is not in good faith or based on logic.

“Sensitivity training” is only necessary if there is some sort of problem. Claiming everyone is a racist and saying they need training does not make it so. Forcing it on everyone only widens the divides among races. I think it was a good idea.
