Carol calls Cher a “half breed, a gypsy, tramp and thief.” Of course she’s alluding to 2 of Cher’s most famous songs.
But Cher shows up in an Indian head dress and almost nothing else! Man she had a beautiful body! Carol calls her “Pocahontas,” “Poke” for short.

No, even though it’s great comedy I don’t think it would be aired today, the era of political correctness. In some ways the liberal left is as much of a nuisance as the conservative right. Look at all the hooplah over the Washington Redskins and K C Chiefs.

They were talking about a hair dresser and Cher deadpanned, “If you mention my name they’ll give you a reservation.” Almost immediately she said “I need to go now,” and Carol Burnett said, “Yes you do!” because they were both on the verge of cracking up.

Why do you say it’s the left making the hoopla? Are you saying that between the left and the right, the left is the only one concerned with people’s feelings?

Not necessarily but as a rule liberals seem to be more concerned with political correctness than is the conservative right. And after all that was only comedy. But I don’t see making the air waves today.

You could get away with a lot more then, than you can now.

I never liked Carol Burnett much anyway.

Off topic a bit when I was a teen my girlfriends older sister looked a lot like Cher. Same body type, facial features, etc. Although she was older than myself and my gal I really had to watch myself around her. Ooh La La!

Political correctness = Taking other people’s feelings into consideration. Without that there wouldn’t BE any such thing as political correctness.
Interestingly, you’d think the Christian right would be into not hurting other people.

Have you ever seen Tim Conway’s elephant skit @elbanditoroso? It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. And prim and proper Mama one ups Them ALL at the end. It put people on the floor!

Yes it was! We watched a bunch of her skits on Routube last night. (Our Roku TV has free Youtube on it.) We watched a lot of TV bloopers too! Talk about NSFW!
