I have lived around the US. So far I have liked Chicago and Los Angeles best. Chicago has Lake Michigan and history and culture and most of my friends are there. Los Angeles has the ocean and mountains and culture (really!) and history and warm weather year-round (though I like snow).

I would like to try living in a very small town. My mother is from a mountain town with 700 people and there is a possibility I could buy the old homestead. Also living somewhere completely foreign, but English-speaking appeals to me. I am thinking Ghana.

I lived in a 100 year old house, walking distance from the beach in Santa Barbara. It was my absolute favorite place. My second favorite was an apartment right on the beach in Ocean Beach, near San Diego.

I lived in Isla Vista for 5 years; it was idyllic, as is most of the Santa Barbara area.

And, I live in the best metropolitan area of the United States, the San Francisco Bay Area. Get off work in downtown San Francisco and headed across to Marin 15 minutes away, hiking in a wild area.

I’m very happy when I’m in England. I lived in Exeter and then in Bristol for two years and loved it there.

I love the Bay Area too but the Wildfires have made me decide I don’t want to move there.

My city is the best place for me to live. I appreciate the fact that crime is rare here. I have never been subjected to any random violence. There are occasional scams, but most of them are just so blatant you can detect it miles away. I don’t think I’ll do well in other cities.

I’ve lived in and around Boston my whole life and love it. I’ve never felt the need to escape or move away. It’s just such a great city with interesting suburbs, in my opinion.

My only complaint, as I get older, is that the cost of living is pretty high, particularly housing. Maybe in five years, once my daughter is done with college, we’ll move somewhere cheaper.

Where? I have no clue. Most states with cheaper housing are down south and we despise the heat. We love England and Italy (and have family in each) but not sure how realistic that is.

Will have to do more research.

I grew up in in Austin, Tx. Still live near by but not in Austin. Its gotten to big and to expensive. But if I ever win the lottery, I’ll probably move back.

On edit: Traffic is hell in that city.

Vancouver, BC.

New Zealand is basically a much smaller and southern-hemisphere version of Canada, and I love Jacinda Ardern.

However, in 2009 I regained my Canadian citizenship, so Vancouver is also where I’d like to live.
