With just three days left in 2020, my thoughts have turned to the new year. What do you think will be the biggest news story in the new year?

Biden dying from a heart attack and Kamala Harris being sworn in as president.

Too much year ahead, anything can happen. For the immediate future, the story will read like: “Trump refuses to leave White House, police and military have stand off with Patriot Morons”.

I fear that there is an above average chance we’re headed for a Great Depression 2.0 with austerity and trickle-down politics from both parties.

Let’s hope to God the country and the world calms down. I can’t take it. Although, crazy times gives me more work, and so more money.

Well considering that I cannot see the future I, unfortunately, have no fucking idea.

I suspect conservative media’s biggest “story” will be how the objectively right-wing pro-corporate status quo Biden administration is actually communism.

Thanks all for your answers. My guess is that the biggest story of 2021 is going to be how Tesla takes over the automotive world.

Darth_Algar's avatar

Sure, maybe if Tesla ever works out that problem with spontaneous combustion.

@Patty_Melt LOL

@FutureMemory Dream on!

@filmfann You really think small businesses will be better able to hang on, compared to mid-range businesses?

crazyguy1's avatar

@PrasannaBhat Do you expect longer term side effects of the vaccines? Do you think they could conceivable be any worse than the disease?

Tesla takes over the automotive world as the lead story for 2021? What sort of self centered dimwitted myopia allows you the delusions you promulgate? Do you actually expect the automotive sector to prosper in the coming depression? Whatever capital your visionless nearsighted greed has convinced you is tenable as investment, allow me to suggest that you switch your money to pharmaceuticals NOW, and position yourself to pick up Tesla and other automotive stocks at bargain basement junkyard prices a year from now. It figures that an avid Trump fan would be just as astute as I’ve come to expect.

I will not name the person I am responding to. But the content of my response makes it obvious.

Anybody who did not have Tesla in his/her portfolio through much of 2020 probably did a lot worse than the hardy souls who took the plunge. It is fairly obvious to me that the unnamed poster missed the boat, and is now spouting “sour grapes” (Oops, probably an obvious error made by a non-native!).

Yeah, I get that you want a company you’re heavily invested in to do well. But good lord man, set some realistic expectations for it. Just how many people do you think are going to be rushing out to purchase a $70–80k automobile in this economic climate?

stanleybmanly's avatar

It’s interesting that your masters permit you to attempt to drive up Tesla stock while you’re here on the clock pushing the destabilization of this country. But never mind hotshot. It puzzles me that you can muster the intellect to safely tie your shoes or dependably cross the street. Have you even glanced at the figures for present day world wide auto inventories? Do you want to guess where those inventories will be at the close of this year? Again, what part of THIS world do you ACTUALLY occupy?
