Is the bell from the New York Stock Exchange made from gold?

1) It’s brass. Go to the NYSE web site and read about it.

2) Gold is too soft of a substance for a bell anyway. It would dent rather than clang.

Somebody would steal it if it was made of gold. Do know how much it would weigh and what it would be worth if it was solid 24c. gold ?? Compare the size of the bell to an ingot of gold that weighs 74 lbs. Gold is like 19.32 times heavier than the same amount of water. It would be worth a fortune!!
