Help with another quote, please. (Details inside)

I don’t recall the exact words, but it goes something like, “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. But I do, and I understand!”

Who said it, and what were the exact words?

It alludes to the idea that you have to take an active part in order to really understand something.

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

Thank you for your replies. They’re not how I’ve heard it, but perhaps what I remember is somebody’s paraphrase of the ancient Chinese philosopher’s quote.
