If you like and use horseradish what do you use it for?

I love it. I mix it in ketchp and dip shrimp in it. Not very original, I know, so asking for more uses. TIA

I use it as a condiment for sausages. Like a more spicy mustard.

I used to use it to make cocktail sauce, ketchup and horseradish as you said, but now I just buy cocktail sauce ready made. The deli mustard I sometimes buy has horseradish in it, so I am betting in a pinch you could add horseradish to yellow mustard and spice it up a little for sandwiches. I have never tried it though. You can make mustard from scratch, not sure you want to go to that much trouble.

There are a lot of Jewish recipes with horseradish. Brisket, vegetable dips, fish. I don’t know if this link will work:

Use it in cocktail sauce, condiment with sausage and also with “Pittsburgh” cooked rib eye steak (rare and cold in middle).

Also use Wasabi (Japanese horseradish) and mayo as relish on Salmon and other fried then roasted fish.

I usually have two horseradish jars and one Wasabi in refrigerator at all times !

Used some Wasabi in my last batch of egg salad sandwiches.

The chrain in Spain

With Pesach soon upon them, the Jewish community in Madrid found themselves in a desperate situation. There was an acute shortage of horseradish (now, many of you may know that horseradish is the key, if not the only ingredient of that fiery condiment for gefilte fish, and which is also known as CHRAIN).

A hue and cry arose and the entire community was mobilized in an effort to prevent this shonda (shame, tragedy).

All the European Union Countries gave them the same reply, “Sorry, we have none to send.”

In desperation, the Rabbi phoned one of his Yeshiva friends in Tel Aviv and begged him to send a crate of horseradish by air freight to Madrid.

Two days before Pesach, a crate of grade Aleph, tear-jerking, Israeli horseradish was loaded at Ben Gurion Airport onto the EL Al 789 flight to Madrid, and all seemed to be well.

Unfortunately, when the Rabbi sent to the Madrid Airport to claim the horseradish he was informed that a wildcat strike had just broken out and no shipments would be unloaded for at least four days.

As a result: The chrain in Spain stayed mainly on the plane.

I love it. I make a dressing for coleslaw with it. I use it along with mustard and ketchup on veggies burgers. I add it to mayo and ketchup to dip my home made air fryer French fries in. I sometimes add a spoonful to ramen noodle soup. And I add it to deviled eggs.

Mmmm, horseradish. I love the up-your-nose hotness. I like it on beef and ham. My neighbors have a perennial horseradish harvest, and they give me a pint jar minced every year.
