What happened to the comments if you turn off Made for Kids in YouTube?

The Made for Kids feature is where the video became limited access where you can’t save the video into a playlist, go into miniplayer, type in comments etc. Many animated shorts and cuts were marked as Made for Kids.
However, there is one video where one Spongebob video where only recent comments are made despite being 10 years ago. I came with a speculation that video was marked as kids before and recently remove the label which remove the old comments.
Is that what happened or I speculate wrongly?
