What is a good profession, craft, trade, or hobby, where it's is ok to make honest mistakes?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24462points) April 3rd, 2021

Like the opposite of an Emergency Room (ER) doctor.

I’m thinking that comedian and fry cook are on the top of the list.

I am open into looking into being a writer one day for fun. Written mistakes can be fixed.

Crochet was fun. I would love to do more.

Fry cook? Yeah, I don’t know about that. Generally speaking, people who are paying money for a meal aren’t too happy with mistakes, honest or not.

@Darth_Algar A fry cook gets a pass now in then from the boss for leaving out a pickle. While a surgeon leaving a piece of operating tool in a patent gets to them fired and sued.

The boss might give you a pass, but that customer is less likely to. Unfortunately it’ll be the waitress, not you who bears the brunt of the customer’s displeasure.

As a tot my daughter wanted to be a doctor. Around seven or eight she changed that to medical examiner, because a mistake wouldn’t kill anybody.
