Being under the spell of a sorcerer.

It’s not a phrase I would ever use because we never know what the inside of anyone’s life really is. However, if pushed, I would say it means someone to whom both material and emotional “goods” came easily and who never suffered major trauma such as serious disease, the loss of a child, poverty, etc.

Someone who had a relatively easy life. Good health, easily achieved goals, no money woes.

I certainly feel free to use the expression regarding my own life. To be born where I was, when I was and under impossibly fortunate circumstances to loving parents who lived lives devoted primarily to doting on their children. I came up in and prospered through what I am convinced were the greatest times this lucky country will ever see, while handed just enough of life’s vicissitudes to teach me indespensable lessons as to just how fortunate my lucky life has been. It is actually frightening to me that for so many years I could persist willy-nilly taking these circumstances and so many many more for granted as though that’s just he way life works, as all around me the exact opposite manifests itself to my consternation. I often get this horrific superstition that I owe someone or something an impossible debt. What do I say if or when they decide to collect?

Being able to change fate.

Good health both mentally and physically and a HUGE bank account. That and only that, the rest is just empty words.

My first thought was that I’ve had a charmed life – not that things have been easy or that I’m wealthy or anything else said previously, but that I’ve been in many situations where I “should” have been maimed, killed, raped, beaten, etc. and haven’t been. Maybe I just have a guardian angel. ;^)
