Does the golf ball make a difference?

I got a friend who pays lots of $ for Titleist Pro V
I use Noodle-cheap
I can hit it a mile and a half , but in the wrong direction
He hits it straight about 100 yds
It’s a lot of money but I maybe you gotta do what you gotta do right?
