Crossing the country on I-90 will get you to see the Badlands, Crazy Horse Mountain, Mount Rushmore, and Yellowstone Nat’l park. All amazing places if you have enough time to see them. If you are going all over then I would also throw in Ruby Falls near Chattanooga TN. But only if you are nervous about being underground.

Olympic National Forest in Washington has two rainforests that you can hike or drive through. It’s a beautiful place. Also Sedona, AZ would be a place I would try to visit. Interesting rock formations, steep canyon walls, pine forests and hiking trails.

You means “sights,” not “sites.”

Niagara Falls and Zoar Valley. Then travel east to the Finger Lakes.
And visit here along the way. :-)

Monument Valley, The Grand Canyon, The Custer Battlefield, Yellowstone National Park, the Columbia River gorge and the volcanos that surround it. The Mary Hill Museum, and Sam Hill’s Stonehenge (near Biggs Junction in the Columbia River gorge.)
