Have you ever had doubts about a decision made by a partner or friend while on a trip?

I just viewed “Back Country ” movie last night.
Here is the link:

It is based on a true story and reminds me of doubts about someones confident choices in my past that I realize now that I should had listened to my initial instincts instead.

Lol well, I know nothing about that movie, but remember an occasion when maybe a girlfriend should have had doubts about my decision making abilities. When had gone down to the Gulf Coast, Port Aransas I think,
used to be aparty place for teens. I was 19 she was 16 but probably had better sense than me. We decided to park my Ford Mustang on the beach, we thought it would be all sexy and romantic to sit there and watch the waves at low tide. She told me we had to move before high tide but I was three sheets in the wind, and told her not to worry. Anyway we went to sleep (no we weren’t and didn’t do the boom boom) but woke up on the wee hours to the sound of slushing water. In the car and going up my exhaust..Had to get it towed out of the sand and get some work done on it, and had to call my dad to wire us the money. He was pissed.
and called me idiot, but he did it. We finally got back to Austin but the poor girl had nothing but her bikini to wear the whole trip. He clothes bad had got wet and salt water and sand all on her stuff. And she didn’t like the “icky” feel when she put her clothes on. Anyway all my fault for being drunk when I had a woman to take care of. Never figured out why she still loved me after that, but shit happens. And in the long run no real harm done.

Some men tend to dismiss women suggestions as being silly. Rick used to do it to me all the time (he doesn’t any more tho.)
He grew up in the 50s and 60s. I just wonder what his parent’s marriage was like. (His mom died several months before we got together.)

Live and learn I guess. If I had 1) Listened to Laura and 2) not been drinking so much, none of that would have happened.
