Use parchment paper.

Add a little more egg yolk and / or baking powder.

Here are some other tips.

I let them spread, but start them much less spread than I want them, in balls that then spread to become cookie-shaped.

Try using an ad blocker.

Or a VPN browrser.

Maybe just reboot your device after each search.

Unless you’re talking about baking real cookies.

Then you should probably adjust the firewall in your oven.

I think.

Personally I skip the cookies and go straight for the eggnog.

That’s I ended up on this site.

Happy Holidays.

You used butter which melts earlier while cooking and s p r e a d s ! https://www.thekitchn.com/shortening-vs-butter-in-cookies-whats-the-difference-213812

^^^^ ”Basically, cookies made with butter spread more and are flatter and crisper if baked long enough. However, they are more flavorful than cookies made with shortening.”

Cookies made with shortening bake up taller and are more tender, but aren’t as flavorful.

Yuppers ! ! !

I haven’t made cookies from scratch in 30 years. I suggest using a cookie mold.

Use less fat.

Well that’s no fun @Snip.
