Why did the likes of Jeffree Star's photos on Instagram fall from 1 million to 100,000 as did his followers? What scandal is responsible for this?

First off, I looked and it says he has 13.5 million followers, and I can’t even see the likes on any of his posts.

He is a make-up artist with his own line of (in my opinion, overpriced) make-up.

the “scandals” are people who have accused him of being racist and other such things in the past.

Occasionally, this happens. Instagram used to be an awesome community. However, nowadays, it has a lot of toxic aspects. Why does Instagram have so many toxic aspects? The jealousy! Before Facebook acquired this site, it was a “no holds barred” site. Things changed after a new CEO was appointed (?). One of the things they did was remove millions of followers from thousands of accounts (I was affected by this). I lost approximately 80,000 followers in total). And that’s not all.
Other Instagram users still resented other Instagram users who were successful. Thus, Instagram reels were born (there are other reasons that Instagram reels was invented also). They are supposed to increase exposure for everyone. There are still changes: now people can choose not to share their like numbers if they have jealous friends/online stalkers or do not like low numbers. Moreover, not everyone is a loyal follower. This leads to a drop in followers from time to time.
Instagram occasionally has “flakey” users. As a conclusion, if there is a scandal that is so out of this world/that blows the human population out of the water (which is rare), such a huge number will indeed drop.
