How trivial could a ghost's "unfinished business" be?

Asked by ragingloli (51967points) February 20th, 2022

It is often said that ghosts linger on in the moral realm, because they have unfinished business or regrets from their now terminated life.
How many ghosts do you think decided to stick around, because they wanted to finish that TV show they were watching, or that movie that was about to be released?
I certainly could imagine myself becoming a ghost, so I could watch any movie or TV show for free, for all eternity, haunting the local cinema and unbeknowst to them, sit next to random people on their couch while they watch TV, and maybe knock over some plates for funsies and blame it on their cat.

Can extraterrestrial aliens become ghosts? I’m not convinced you have a soul.

ragingloli's avatar

A soul is not required to become a ghost, I have decided.

One could have died while fornicating.
And want to finish.

@rebbel
Now that is a ghost worthy of the name “Slimer”.

@rebbel All the moaning would be appropriate.

They want to know who shot JR?

Don’t know, but it strikes me that if there is an afterlife, hanging around this mortal plane would be more fun than burning in hell, fretting in Purgatory, or sitting on a cloud listening to Jesus groupies preach. Given a choice that is. And it certainly beats reincarnation and having to go thru all this bull crap all over again. As a rule I have had a
happy life, but I don’t want or need another shot at it. What’s behind door number three?

Imagine you are playing patience by yourself and you suddenly die. All you feel is a twinge of indigestion as you continue playing to the end of the game.

A twinge of indigestion. Ha!
I hope I go like that.
