Is this site useful?

Asked by Seekinganswers (17points) February 26th, 2022

Hello, I have been trying to get answers and thoughts from others on various issues and questions, but have been unable to find a good site for that. Have you all found this site useful? Or is it like Quora where people who answer questions have opinions, not facts, and generally do not know what they are talking about?

Welcome to Fluther.

A great deal depends on the nature of your questions. It’s not possible to say we can answer anything. I can assure you that the users here will read thoughtful questions and genuinely try to find answers for you.

If you ask in the General Section, you will get answers relating specifically to your question and details. Answers in the Social Section can vary from facts to personal anecdotes and opinions.

We have a relatively small user base. We have only about a hundred active users, but don’t let that deter you. I’ve seen people here dig diligently and return with answers that were spot on.

Try us.

This site is probably a step up from quora, though you’ll receive opinions aplenty.

Sometimes.

I think the rule of thirds applies here the way it does in most of the world:

It’s ⅓ facts, ⅓ opinions, and ⅓ bullshit. It’s useful if you know how to use it.

Draw your conclusions, after these five answers.
And welcome.

Fluther is a community that helps each other.

You can ask for answers with sources if you choose. We (some of us) used to back up everything with a source at one point and it was fun, closer to actual debate.

I guess the OP didn’t like fluther. They’re outta here.

@smudges I guess useful is subjective.
