Wish to purchase GIMP photo editing software but how do I know which site is a legitimate website , and how can I tell it is?

Went on Amazon and saw a CD for sale, but again I am feeling uncertain that it may or may not infect my computer?

GIMP is free.
Anyone who charges you for it, is scamming you.

Scared that because its FREE that a virus may be on it?
So that is why I am looking for the liegitimate webiste for GIMP. But how do I know that it is with so many scam webistes these days.
On top of that my Remote Assitance dell.ca service agreement expired and I was not going to pay out double the amunt that I paid four years ago when I purchased a computer system from them.

Are you saying you don’t have any anti-virus and are roaming around the internet ?

Get a free anti virus like this ==> Microsoft Free Anti-virus

https://www.gimp.org/
Don’t pay anything.

Edit. Just saw that Loli linked to it. I can verify that the link and download is safe.

One of my geek friends swears by gimp.org. I’ve downloaded from there & there was NO virus. I think that they have a pro version you can buy but you get the same benefits from the free version.

Scared that that coud be a scammed sd well , sine I had previously tried to purchase Microsoft word and wen to the site and it was a hacker who tried to get me togive my cedit card and took over my computer..long story.
But in the end I had Dell.ca remote assistanece then ( paid for three years ) who told me if it happens again pull the ethernet plug out of the tower in the back and THAT hacker cannot fet into MY computer.
It took a a couple of hours and had to change my banking ( off the computer now) since he could had gotten to it but found out that he didn’t have time since I pull thet ethernet cord.
Since then I don’t trust websites anymore as it was exactly like the real one.

I use GIMP all the time. Here is the official download
You’re way more likely to get a virus if you pay for it and get a physical disc. Anyone selling it is scamming.
