Or an atheists evolutionary science books?

He shouldn’t do it. Instead, he should pray real hard and let his deity do it.

He can’t destroy any of my many texts, so…..

Despite his beliefs, Dawkins is an academic, and academics don’t destroy what they don;t agree with; they counter with a better argument.

Some religionists would eliminate any text other than their own religion, but that has nothing to do with most peoples beliefs regarding searching for the truth.

Why pick on Dawkins? He isn’t an intolerant asshole like Bill Maher.

@zenvelo I bring up Richard Dawkins, and not Bill Maher, because I don’t have HBO anymore. I was just wondering after listening to some of his YouTube videos’. Anyway thanks for answering.

Bibles are of historical value and, as an academician, Dawkins would still want copies around. The historical importance of Christianity is such that, even if people came to their senses and stopped believing in it, I am sure that Dawkins would support having museum exhibits that included sacred writings and maybe even simulations of religious services.

Religion, now, is a sickness, a cancer, a by-gone explanation of what was thought to be true, and how it may have come about. But science has displaced religion, so it is of no further use.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@kritiper I believe that science will be replaced by impeccable record keeping based statistics.

LostInParadise's avatar

You can’t come up with theories like relativity or evolution by just doing statistics.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@LostInParadise Correct, but scientists will still be around for that. The same way the religious teaching is still around.

Not sure if Dawkins would as it would make his work redundant.
However there are various versions of the Bible all reporting to be the TRUE account of ancient times.
Example:
The Books of Enoch:
The First Book of Enoch ( Ethiopic version)
the Second Book : The Slavonic Secrets of Enoch ( version)
The Third Book of Enoch ( The Hebrew Book of Enoch ( version).
Each Religion takes whatever passages and dechiper and even change up some things in order to best manipulate their followers.
Author : Joseph B. Lumpkin addresses those changes in his book:
The Books Of Enoch

If so he’s a moron, and not one whit better than conservatives and “Christians” who want to ban or burn books they don’t like. An idiot by any other name is still an idiot. I don’t care which side of the fence you come down on. And if we are going to feign being appalled by that behavior by some groups but applaud it by others, we need to have our heads examined.

I don’t believe book burnings are ever productive activities. And I doubt Dawkins would either, though despite being a fellow atheist, I don’t really dig his atheism work. I dig his book the Selfish Gene which was excellent.
