Why does the "Not secure" on Chrome come on only when you open the browser?

Asked by chefl (917points) June 2nd, 2022

I don’t know which version, but as soon as a second tap is opened the “Not secure” disappears, why?

It’s your starting page’s web site – it is an HTTP not an HTTPS site – HTTPS meaning secure.

(Read this).

It is completely under your control. In settings, enter a secure website URL.

I start with a https site, and I only try Chrome if something is not working on Firefox. or Edge, etc.

I wrongly assumed the site I start with is https, which to my surprise it’s not.
