What is your favorite breakfast?

Asked by WhyNow (2839points) June 6th, 2022

Ok… I’ll start… Very fresh well buttered bread, fruit, coffee.

I’ve had many memorable morning meals but thanks grandpa…
This will bring me joy… everytime!

If I were in a restaurant and wanted something decadent (maybe once a year this might occur since I’m not usually out for breakfast), it would be French toast.

My go-too at home, 90% of the time would be Greek vanilla yogurt, add walnuts, add berries. I freeze the yogurt for an hour or two so it’s extra cold and less creamy. I like bagels but try not to eat them more than a few times a month.

I’m going for the artery clogging eggs (any style), bacon (and lots of it), raisin toast, and grits.

My favorite is steak and eggs. However, that isn’t the healthiest thing to eat.
If I am in a restaurant that serves Huevos Rancheros, I always get that. Unfortunately, what they serve is wildly different in every restaurant.
When I am home, I have cereal and milk.

I should have added that coffee is a given – mandatory, daily, hot, lots of coffee.

I love bacon but don’t make it at home. I only eat it for breakfast a few times a year – maybe when we stay in hotels and they have a breakfast buffet.

^^ My problem with bagels is… they have a hole in them.

Most anything that looks and smells good that will fill my belly.

Peanut butter toast. Since there has been a total recall of JIF peanut butter in the last 2 weeks, I’m having withdrawal symptoms.

Small omelet with mushrooms, green pepper, and cheese. Mushrooms and green pepper in large-ish pieces. Toasted English muffin and bacon on the side.

Usually, I would have a hot chocolate with it and water. If there is fresh squeezed orange juice I would have a little of that too. What I’d really like is a Coke. Lol. I don’t drink Coke anymore.

I have many favorite breakfasts.

Omelets and frittatas.

Eggs over hard, fried in the grease from cooking the accompanying bacon or eggs.

Some of them are versions from very good and/or particular restaurants and bakery/cafes:

French-style bakery cafe for onion-gruyere or spinach-feta pastry, croissant, pain au chocolat, and/or quiche.

Sausage, egg, tomato, gruyere and greens biscuit sandwich.

Corned beef & sweet potato hash (also has greens, a couple of types of onion, an egg over hard, non-sweet potato, probably something else I’m forgetting).

If I eat breakfast I would prefer French toast.

I don’t eat when I wake but I like most foods thought of as breakfast foods. I wouldn’t eat brains or put milk on cereal or eat most any type “breakfast product” such as toaster popups, breakfast bars, and such.

@filmfann Sometimes It’s better to eat happy than to eat healthy.

@Dutchess_III In diner-ees speak French Toast is known as a lover… so hmmm.

Regular order… 3 slices is a lover as a kind of acronym…
two slices is called a short lover.
