Does meat have more calories than veggies?

Fat contains 9 calories per gram.
Protein and carbohydrates contain 4 calories per gram.

Lean chicken (skinless breast meat) has 1.43 calories per gram. Beets (which are high on the glycemic index) are .44 calories per gram.

Yes.

I love mushrooms. Good source of potassium and a whooping 4 calories per mushroom.
