What if I am twenty year old but very often my heart feel that my life like in song "It was a very good year"?
You too? This song seems to be about me, but at the same time it seems that it will never be about me in any sense.

If you mean feeling wistful about your youth, I do. My parents still live on the farm where I grew up so the nostalgia is strong. There is always a tinge of loss with it.
Like you, we are all born to die. Accept it. Everybody thinks about such things from time to time so it’s just normal. (Just wait until you get into your late 60’s like me!)
Is this the song you’re speaking of??? I think we ALL have phases in our lives that seem perfect at the time & then as time passes, we realize how silly we actually were. Then old age seems to suddenly close in so fast that you wonder what you did with your life!!! Our perspective changes with knowledge. We’ve also learned the pitfalls of our actions & we naturally become cautious!!! Then the brain begins to go & we go back in our mind to a happier place to relive our youthful folly & have fun once again. @freguarUK, how old are you???
The Lady M, my grandfather (my hero) tells me to stay a little naive even if it is risky.
Why? Because then we will see the world with young eyes he says. Otherwise
our experiences and our regrets make being happy difficult.
@WhyNow I’m of the mindset that you can remain naive & retain your youthful thinking!!! I ALWAYS related with Peter Pan because I REFUSED to grow up!!! There are few choices that I made in my life that I regret…a few that I might do differently now, but I don’t regret doing them the first time!!! How are you going to know what you don’t enjoy, IF you NEVER try it to discover what it is you feel??? ALL my mistakes & transgressions are what lead me to the WONDERFUL life that I’m enjoying right now!!!
In rethinking, I do have ONE regret…I regret that I didn’t understand what all those old people were trying to tell me about how FAST the last half of my life would go by!!! Even that has kept my life more interesting when I could have been sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch!!!
I would thingk that the reson that many think about the olds days is when they were too young to take on resposibilities then, hense a feeling of freedom until one grows up and takes on real life responsibility.
