What trend do you wish would go away?

Asked by RayaHope (7448points) September 13th, 2022

I am so tired of seeing guys wear their pants off of their butts. I mean..come on?! I just don’t see how or why they want to do that. I’d be so self conscious and embarrassed.

Having radio and local news channels report where police speed traps are. It is like they are enabling crime.

Also needing a code to download a game. I purchased a civilization beyond earth game then my computer crashed and have to pay another $50 to download the game again.

I would stop that practice.

Also I would be greatful to be able to remove Steam and applestore Appstore from my mom’s computer.

High waisted pants/shorts on women. It’s not a look that ever should have come back into style IMO, but at the end of the day people should wear what they want.

Also giving an alcoholic beverage to a bar patron without asking what one wants one or not.

Someone bought me a screwdriver (orange juice and vodka) without asking me first. I don’t drink alcohol and It messes with my medication. I refused it and maybe it was dumped down the sink or she/he drank it.

TikTok, it’s a rediculous fad.

MAGA is a terrible fad.

Those shirts with ‘cold shoulders’, and yeah, boys wearing their pants way down on their hips (and I say boys because no real man would).

lips enlarged….years from now our descendants would be laughing.
All this cosmetic boob jobs, butt jobs, is creating false hope for those who agree to this .
Most have them reversed later and reget having it done anyways.
Too many are dazzeled by the media’s idea of perfection to their detriment.

Huge tattoos on people, all over.

Many things mentioned above are annoying, too. MAGA, Tik Tok, pants down to the hips showing underwear.

Yesss! So many tattoos!

Fanny packs!

I miss the bell bottom trend.

Fat shaming. Smoker shaming. Ink shaming.

canidmajor's avatar

Pretty much any shaming, actually. Grief shaming, baby-feeding shaming, etc etc etc. too many to name.

NIMBYISM

This is the most annoying trend to me.

Is sagging still a thing? That seems like more of a 2000s fad that was popular when I was a kid. I guess some trends are forever. I hate it mainly because how I can stare at a guy’s butt if I can’t see the shape?

Anyway, I wish TikTok and all its dumb (and sometimes dangerous) “challenges” would die.

Virtue signalling in all its grotesque forms.

I can’t figure out why women buy ripped, distressed jeans!
I have a couple of equally distressed 20 year old jeans that I use when I work on my cars or mowers. The rips look similar to the ones in the jeans for sale at Old Navy.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

That’s easy I wish Trumpism would just fade away.

RayaHope's avatar

@LuckyGuy Who’s got time to wait 20 years and work on a bunch of stuff to get cool jeans?! Some are so lit! I love them :)

jca2's avatar

@RayaHope: You can speed up the process by putting a few nicks in regular jeans with a razor blade or knife and then they will shred around the nicks after a few runs in the washing machine.

RayaHope's avatar

@jca2 Oh, you know it! I’ve made my own jeans once, I loved them and my mom yelled at me for ruining them. I said I just made them so fire!!!

YARNLADY's avatar

What is the point of Fashion and Style? people should just wear what they want.

LuckyGuy's avatar

@RayaHope Sometimes I’ll wear those jeans while working outside with a weed whacker or chainsaw, When I come back inside and change, I will have dirty patterns on my legs that match the holes.
When someone wears tight, holey distressed jeans outside, do those holes leave sunburn “tattoos”?

RayaHope's avatar

@LuckyGuy Sure if you’re out long enough I suppose that’s possible. But not too likely if you are doing stuff and moving around. I’m kinda tanned most of the time.

Social media in general. It’s like the whole world is playing the celebrity game, and you just need to virtue signal, exaggerate, self promote and deceive enough to win. Don’t forget your insta filters so it doesn’t look as boring as real life!

WhyNow's avatar

^ I second the celebrity game as you state.
Real celebrities are tired of the celebrity game,

Medium length hairstyles. Where is too short or too long to keep one’s hair from getting into one’s face, and needs to be twitched away every minute. It looks aggravating, and can be fixed by cutting the hair shorter or letting the hair grow longer.

Selfishness.

Crumbl Cookies. It’s a franchise that opened up in a city near us. The cookies are baked fresh for you, and they’re huge (like the dough is the size of an ice cream scoop). The cookies are sweet and full of fat and about 800 calories each, and about $6 each. Each cookie is supposed to be 4 servings. Who needs to spend 6 or 12 dollars on one or two cookies? They come in a pink box, and the kids like to go there. “We want Crumbl Cookies” is the most annoying request because they’re expensive and not good for you.
