You know how Zoho documents are stored online? Is OpenOffice the same way?

No, it’s not. OpenOffice is an offline application just like Microsoft Office. However, most OpenOffice files are compatible with Zoho, so you can import and export the files between the two.

Ulteo is offering a sort of ‘hosted desktop’ that has OpenOffice for use – it will work like Zoho in the sense you use it just in the browser and the data is stored on the ‘internet’ or with the host. Try it here

If you’re looking for a Zoho-like system I’d recommend Google Docs though…
