meebo.com

It’s a web based chat client that connects to aim, google chat, yahoo, and MSN.

As a bonus, it works at work, where everything else is banned, or you can’t install new software by yourself. A+ for meebo.

Adium by far. It supports a number of providers including, AIM, Hotmail, ICQ, Yahoo, G Talk, Mobile Me and even Facebook and Myspace chat!

Pidgin is a multi provider client, an it’s open source. There are a lot of useful addons that make im-ing easier or better.

My work requires and only allows Microsoft Office Communicator. (sigh)

However, it’s not all bad:

- it uses internal servers for intra-company chat, so conversations are private and not kept on Google’s servers somewhere

- it can interface with AIM, Y!, GTalk, and ICQ (maybe others).

- it archives my conversations into a special Outlook folder

- it updates my status based on my Outlook Calendar

What I don’t like is:

- no avatars supported

- stuck with my corporate screenname everywhere… can’t use any of my personal accounts

I use Pidgin as it’s available for me on both Linux and Windows :) plus it’s compatible with so many networks.

This webpage is not available.

The webpage at http://www.digsby.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
