The wifi device in my compaq v3218la completely dissappeared?

just woke up last sunday and realized the device was off… i didnt care, i thought if i rebooted it would go normal… but to this day the damn thing doesnt show up… i ran antivirus, just in case, and reinstalled the device… but it doesn start even before entering windows. very strange. Im asking before taking my notebook to warranty because i suppose it will take a couple of weeks, maybe i could save those weeks…
