Should I open this Paypal notification?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47222points) 2 weeks ago

I went to send a friend some money through Paypal.
A pop up said I had $130 waiting for me. No name, nothing.
I have NO idea who would be sending me money, and I’m terrified to open it!

I wouldn’t open it, and I definitely would not click on ANY URLs that are in the message.

I called PP. It was money my daughter sent i. March of 2024. It’s coming together. But still a lot of questions!
I’ll get it tomorrow. I’m locked out for now.

Hmmm…I wonder where it’s been all this time.

Yes. Questions that I’ll be asking Monday.

No. I just forward that shit to phishing@paypal.com and delete.

Haha I just read your comment that it was from your daughter.

You probably just missed the email. If you’re ever unsure, delete the email. And just log into your account—not from a link!!— and check.

I send a lot of money to different people. Twice a month, at least. This is the first time I saw it.
I wasn’t going to touch it until I got to the bottom of it.

Now if you’ll excuse me I need to send my life’s savings to a handsome youg Sheik in New Jersey who wants to marry me.

@Dutchess_III Would you settle instead for a New Jersey penguin?

Yes @jca2! I am super gullible! Your kind of girl!

I got it it figured out today, with the help of a human CS agent af Paypal.
He kept mentioning “Email” too.
Well the email is a defunct little account I have with Yahoo. I check about once a year, so there was nothing I “clicked kn accidentally.”
Anyway, he rerouted at his end.
It’s taken care of.
