Does anybody on here have a portable washer and/or dryer?
I am mainly asking about the portable washer but if you have a portable dryer I would like to know about that too. I found the place to move to which seems really nice although I won’t get to see it until tomorrow. But one drawback is that they do not have a washer and dryer and I don’t really care to have to lug my stuff back and forth to the laundromat. I did check out services that pick up and deliver your laundry back to you, but they’re pretty expensive. So my other option was to purchase a portable washer and I was wondering if anybody had ever had one or had one now. And if so, can you make any recommendations or give me any other tips?

We had one as a kid, lot smaller loads , don’t know anything about the dryer.
@SQUEEKY2 what did you think as far as how well it worked? I don’t mind doing smaller loads because it’s just me, but I want to make sure it gets the clothes clean.
My sister does and she likes it. It’s small though, she can’t wash very many things at once.
Not now, but in my first apartment after college. And it was awful, for two reasons:
1) capacity sucked – way too small – had to do multiple loads
2) motor, agitator was way too weak; stuff didn’t get clean
3) had to hook it up to the kitchen sink (back then) which was a mega-hassle.
4) the dryer was 120v (not 240v like a real dryer) and the heating element just didn’t do the job.
Avoid if you can.
@JLeslie I know it will be a smaller capacity, but I’m not too worried about having to do multiple loads. It’s just me and I don’t seem to go through a lot of laundry, but at any rate, I’m a homebody so it doesn’t bother me to throw a load in.
@elbanditoroso it may be my only option if I’m moving to this place. Anyway, I’m hoping that they have improved on them since you went to college. All the reviews I have read by people who purchase them said that the clothes get really clean. And I’m not worried if I have to hang some stuff up to dry. I used to do that with my t-shirts anyway because I didn’t like them to shrink.
I had a portable washing machine in one apartment. It hooked up to the kitchen sink. It washed small loads, and it got my clothes clean. I had a stand to hang the clothes on to dry. I liked the set up just fine.
@Hawaii_Jake thanks! I also have a screened in porch so when it’s not too cold, I can hang my stuff out there as well.
