Can any fellow flutherites suggest a good rental truck agency?

one that I don’t have to worry about it breaking down while on the road! But don’t worry I won’t hold it against you if it does! Since I will be traveling with a couple of dogs an a parrot. I will also be pulling my mountaineer. I’m afraid of it overheating and I’ve heard that when traveling oneway, they give you the worst one on the lot. Since it will be just me and my animal, well, I’ve got to tell you I’m scared…so if you don’t hear from me, it won’t me from lack of trying.

I urge you to avoid U-Haul. I read an expose on them that showed their equipment is often past the servicing date (in some cases, having missed more than one servicing) and there have been numerous incidents (some where people died). I’ve also had some really crappy trucks through them, one the spedometer and fuel gauge didn’t work! One place didn’t even bother going over the truck with me as they’re supposed to, and sent me off with the paper saying the truck had a full tank of gas, which it didn’t.

I personally like Budget. The trucks I’ve rented through them were newer, clean, and in good condition. Never had any issue with them at all, nor with Budget itself. As a bonus, they seem to be the cheapest of all the companies. You can get discounts by booking online, if you do this, check out coupon sites like retailmenot.com and you can get an extra discount.

WoW AlenaD thanks so much. You wouldn’t happen to know if they have oneway?

Yeah, they definitely do. Check out their website, you can get quotes and all that. And you’re welcome.. I’ve done more than my share of moving and renting trucks, I’m glad I could steer you to a good company.
