Are you planning on doing anything to commemorate "International 2-way Radio Day," tomorrow?

Asked by JackAdams (6574points) October 3rd, 2008

October 4th is traditionally set aside as a day to mark the creation, development and utilization of 2-way communications via radio.

The reason that date was chosen, is because it is mentioned on more 2-way radio conversations than any other date.

You have heard the expression “10–4”, right?

How have 2-way radios benefitted your life? And, that includes cellular telephones also, which are nothing more than extremely sophisticated and highly specialized 2-way radios.

“International 2-way Radio Day”?!

And I thought “talk like a pirate day” was pushing it…

We this morning me an my buddy pulled a 2-way on my favorite radio. Now when I listen to it, we’ll have the shame of that experience tainting my easy listening.
