Just don’t want to be fooled by the person who’ll receive it.

Send money how?
Like a wire transfer?

The bank will provide you with a receipt of the transaction. If you somehow don’t find a way to print one online. Call them or go to a branch and they can provide it as well.

Wire transfer…instant and documented.

But even if he doesn’t receive it in another bank account but in cash? i just want to have proof that he got his money and not tell me he didn’t.

if you are planning to send something via Western union rather than wire transfer directly to his account, then he would have to sign for the money when he picked it up there.

If you are planning to mail a physical money order, then you should send it certified mail with a signature required. He could still lie and say that someone else signed for the letter, so the best way is to make him pick it up at a bank or Western Union location.

If you’re doing a direct transfer from your BoA account to the other person’s BoA account, you will get a confirmation page with a confirmation number. You can print that page out as your “receipt”.

This, btw, has nothing to do with “wire transfers” nor Western Union. This is a feature of BoA’s online banking system, and is available for free to all BoA customers.

@MrItty: 2Late2Be mentioned above that the money is to be wired to Mexico…

No BofA there but here the BofA branch can wire money to any international bank. If he has an account with that bank, when the bank in Mexico receives the money, it’s as good as cash (it has to be transferred directly into his account, and that is how it is verified as a receipt on his end). Then, if he doesn’t have a bank account, he would need to find a bank that will accept the transfer on his behalf.

I’ve wired money repeatedly to three countries in Africa exactly as sndfreQ describes. Works beautifully if the other person has a bank account and if you have exactly the
information your bank requires – probably the person’s name, physical address,
bank name & address, their bank account number, the bank’s routing number, and maybe some other stuff that your BoA branch can tell you about. It might reassure you to go into your bank branch on your feet rather than try to do this online.

If it’s any type of a electronic transfer there’s always a receipt to print,it’s not like your tying it to a pigeon’s leg and hoping he gets it.
