What is a good recipe for green bean casserole?

I am attending Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's and I'm bringing green bean casserole. I want it to be delicious!!

I like the one on the back of the French's French Fried Onions can

I went to the Campbell's Soup website - and got their recipe. It's delicious. I think it needs a little more pepper than it calls for, though.

Martha Stewart website had lots of good options for almost any veggie. Also, "Cooking Light" magazine has a site with recipes. I agree that the Durkee F. F. Onion can recipe is great (uses Campbell's soup, so )...

Try taking the traditional recipe upscale. Saute haricots (French grean beans) in high grade olive oil or butter (I use 50/50) with coarsely chopped shallots, almonds and slivered garlic. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Add bechmel, top with Japanese panko bread crumbs and caramelized onions. Drizzle with butter (for browning) and bake.
