my favorite hiking shoes are mion. I have 4 pairs I love them so much, they are comfortable, durable, and stylish.

I love my vasque. I have have them for about 15 years and resoled them once. But the best hiking boots are the ones that fit and don't give you blisters.

Depends on your foot. I have found that some salomons have the high arch necessary for my foot. Try going to a quality outdoor store with a knowledgeable staff and try on a bunch of brands and see what works. When you find a few brands that are comfortable go and read some reports on their durability, or come back to fluther with some specific brands to see if others have been pleased with their durability, etc.
