What are some good resources on getting started on doing contract programming?

I’ve always worked in large corporations, but I’ve been interested and have had some side offers doing some side work doing web apps for small businesses. What are some good resources on getting started doing this sort of thing?

visit freelanceswitch.com. THey happen to have lots of articles on freelancing. besides rentacoder and the other freelancing sites also have articles on freelancing. You have worked in large corporations so you obviously would be someone quite organized. Companies love that. Try it , you might end up having a real good time.
