Access hard drive from school?

Asked by aanuszek1 (2290points) October 27th, 2008

Is there a program that will allow me to access the contents of my hard from school; a portable one that I could put on a flash drive? It seems like I always forget my usb drive and am constantly redoing papers for my Computer Application class. It would be used just to transfer/open small files. (Word Docs, Xcl Spredsheets, etc.)

If you have a mac, you can pay for “Back to My Mac” and a ”.Mac” account, or whatever the new name is for it. That will let you use a mac to access your mac back at home, if you are using VIsta or an XP machine, you can set of something similar to that, but it takes a lot of advanced knowledge to set up. I have also seen programs and Apps online that offer the same thing. (They basically set up the network for you, so you don’t have to program it.)
