Are you a night owl?

Asked by gimmedat (3951points) November 1st, 2008 from iPhone

I love staying up late at night, I always have. I love to break night then sleep super late into the day. Unfortunately, my career does not afford that, so I only stay up super late on weekends. I seem to have passed that trait along to my kids who all like to watch movies until 3 or 4 AM, then sleep super late. Are you an early to bed, early to rise person, or do you rock late into the night?

I’m a serious night owl and unfortunately, this trait carries over into the week too.

It’s so hard for me to wake up for work, that I literally have three alarm clocks – one of which is designed for the “elderly and hard of hearing” and is a large, vibrating disk that goes under the mattress. Lovely.

Whoooo, me?

Big time. I have it bad. Its almost pathologic for me. An addiction.

The bad thing I have kids who think when the sun comes up, its day time.

LOL figbash! I, too, struggle with getting to bed during the week. I, too, have a difficult time getting out of bed on time. I set my alarm clock for (seriuosly) 32 minutes fast, hoping that I will freak out thinking I’m running super late. It doesn’t work, though, I end up doing some pretty involved math while half asleep and figuring I have at least two more chances at the 8 minute snooze. Why is it that one can fall so deeply into sleep in 8 minutes, and why do I get so psyched when I have another 3 minutes before I HAVE to get up?

I have always been a night-owl. I easily stay up till 4am, and never go to sleep before 1am unless I’m terribly ill. I don’t have a day job that requires an early rise, but I do have to get up early occassionally, and often survive on 4 or 5 hours of sleep. I bought the loudest alarm clock I could find, and always snooze, too.

it’s 6:07am. I am just starting to Fluther! This is the last thing I do before I drift to sleepyland.

I evaporate somewhere between 9 and 10 o’clock. I am not a night person, not much of a morning person either. I have a few good hours in the middle of the day.

Huh, everyone who knows me here, knows that I’m a night owl, or vampire.
